SMOKING POLICY
-
All residents or guests who choose to smoke outside must be at least 30 feet away from all doors, entries and windows.
-
Cigarette butts must be disposed of responsibly into a fire-safe disposable container and eventually deposit the butts in the dumpster—do not litter the grounds with them. Please remember that it has always been the policy that there is no smoking permitted in any of the common areas of the buildings: front lobby, hallways, laundry room, storage rooms and stairwells. There has also been a no smoking policy inside the pool enclosure, in accordance with the health department rules. This pertains to smoking of any substances. If you choose to smoke inside your individual condo unit you must prevent second hand smoke from emanating into neighboring units and common areas. We suggest that you do some or all of the following: 1) Purchase an ionizer or air purifier for the rooms where you smoke 2) Install new weather-stripping around your unit entrance doors and consider using “draft dodgers” to prevent smoke from getting into the hallways 3) Keep unit windows closed when smoking to prevent smoke from rising into adjacent units 4) Avoid smoking in the bathroom as units above you can often smell your second hand smoke We believe that these rules benefit the health and consideration of all in the community and we thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you are a tenant, please verify with your landlord that smoking is permitted in your unit. Landlords have the right to deem their units nonsmoking. If the problems persist we will be following up with individual unit owners and issuing fines.
